A Quote for Today...
We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year's Day. Edith Lovejoy Pierce

We find ourselves at the end of 2010 and the beginning of 2011! We can either look back on our failures and get discouraged that we didn't accomplish all we set out to in 2010, or we can leave 2010 where it belongs...in the past. I want to encourage you to ask God to give you a FRESH burden, FRESH goals, and FRESH annointing and power for 2011. How can you serve God MORE in 2011 than you did in 2010?

Many people become depressed this time of year. As Christians, however, we have much to be thankful for. Yes, we have failed God this passed year, but God's grace has been with us and God's strength is with us as we face a new and exciting year! We must not let depression stop us, instead we must press on knowing that in the end VICTORY is OURS!

Only 4 days - counting today - are left in 2010. Sooo, did you keep all your 2010 resolutions? Are you setting the same resolutions for 2011 promising that this year those goals will be met? Ihave narrowed all my resolutions down to one word this year...discipline! This word, if achieved will help in EVERY aspect of my life. What is one of your resolutions? Share with us...

If you were asked to give a Christmas verse, what would it be? Luke 2, Matthew 1, what about Romans 6:23, or John 3:16? These last two verses are not normally thought of as Christmas verses, yet they both tell the whole story of Christmas in each verse. Romans 6:23 says that God gives a gift that we cannot buy or earn and John 3:16 tells us why Jesus came - to give His life for our sins. He came because He loves us!

I am working on a list of goals & accomplishments that I would like to see MMM reach in 2011. I will be posting them New years day. I would be interested in your thoughts of things you may want to see, information, notes from missionarries, etc. or maybe there is something you would like me to STOP doing. PLEASE be honest and open with me. I pray that the Lord will expand our coasts in 2011, but I do need input.
The joke says I was wondering why the baseball was getting bigger, then it hit me. Many people will be "hit" with the reality of heaven and hell. Our job as Christ's amassador's is to warn people of this time. There is a burning hell & a beautiful heaven. How many people have you told of these REAL places in 2010? That is what Christmas is about, Christ came to save the world. Plan to tell more people of God in 2011.

The time is coming for opening presents, reading the Christmas story, and spending time with family. While we look forward to this time let's not forget to spend time with Jesus not just on Christmas day, but all year long. Make the commitment to spend a little more time with Christ this upcoming year.

As I sat in apologetics class, we gave the correct definition of truth. TRUTH is any theing that corrisponds with reality. As I thought about that statement, I remembered when Jesus was praying in John 17 He said in verse 17 "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth." What does this mean? God's Word Corresponds with reality! It is not a distant book, that is irrelevent today. It is just the opposite.

I was walking out the door to go to work. It was raining, my steps looked wet, but "safe". I stepped down the first step & POW!! I hit the ground. The steps had ice on them that I could not see, I was "decieved". Satan's the same way. He tempts us with something that looks o.k. but then BAM!!! We fall. We need to have a sure step and that is found ONLY in God's Word. Get grounded, down let Satan cause you to slip.

It has been a couple of days since I posted so.... Haven & Holly are doing great. This time of year is so busy for evryone. I find it interesting that Psalm 46:10 says to "be still and know I am God." and yet Satan always finds ways to keep us sooo busy we forget who God is and we become burdened down with the cares of this world. If you find yourself saying "I don't have time for quiet time." You're simply TOO BUSY.

Whether you're covered with snow or not I trust you will have a great day. It doesn't matter what comes our way, just remember that God is with you all the way and He will not leave you. Saturday I walked ina parade and helped pass out over 1,000 bags of candy that had a card tied to them. On the card was John 3:16. By the end of the parade I just wanted to pass out, but God has given me strength. He IS my strength.

Miracle Morning Ministries has been on hold for the last couple of days due to the birth of mine and Holly's new baby girl Haven Hope Bowling. She weighed 9 lbs 1oz when she was born December 7th at 1:34 P.M. Holly is doing well and we want to say thank you for your prayers and we are looking forward to showing her off as we begin to schedule meetings for next year. We will be sending 2 basket of blessings soon.

The world did not not stop to take notice and worship Christ when He was born. Only a few took note & went to worship. When the shepherds left that night, they were so touched by the experience that theu could not keep their mouths shut. They were driven to spread the word - LK. 2:17. What excitement they must have had as they told everyone the Messiah was here! I pray for THAT enthusiasm - Go ye into ALL the world!
Thursday, December 2, 2010
I wonder what was going through the Shepherd's minds as they saw one angel proclaiming Christ's birth, then out of nowhere.... BAM!!! A HOST of angels singing!! Let me add here that God has a "flare" for the dramatic, in my opinion. That aside, the encounter drove the shepherd's to Christ to worship. Oh that we would have an "encounter" this Christmas season that would drive us to simply worship God.

25 days left until Christmas!! People say that we celebrate Christmas because it is Jesus' birthday, but let's not forget, He is eternal. Jeus is the I AM. Before there was a world to save Jesus "is" for He is "I AM". He is outside time, He is. We celebbrate Christmas not because Jesus was born, but because God humbled Himself to save us from sin. Christmas is about God's Love. John 3:16.

"What do you want for Christmas?" - I have learned that this is both a dangerous and loaded question. When asked people will give answers anywhere from "peace on earth" to "a new car". I usually say "I don't know". I have been thinking lately about my neighbors. I have lived in my house for 3 years & have not done a single thing for them. So this year I'm asking... "What can I give?, How can I be a better neighbor?"
Monday, November 29, 2010
As I began to think about Christmas and what it is all about. I thought of Jesus. He is J for Jehovah - Holy, E for Emanuel - To think that God would come to us, S for Substitutionary Sacrifice - He died so I could live, U for Unfailing Love - after all God IS love and He NEVER fails, S for Sufficient - He needs nothing nor does He need anyone, but I need Him. He is ALL I need.
Christmas is all about.. JESUS!!

Psalm 69:30 "I will praise God's name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving." - Tommorrow we will gather around the table and eat like gluttons, sit in front of the t.v., watch football, sleep, and before you know it Friday will be here. I want to encourage everyone to take time and REALLY glorify God with singing and thanksgiving...then relax. Be grateful ALL life long not just for ONE moment of ONE day.

Psalm 26:7 - "That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all thy wondrous works." - We live in such a thankless society. People rarely thank anyone anymore. Living in such a society has rubbed off on Christians as well. We rarely thank God anymore. David is seeking opportunity to thank God PUBLICLY! Oh that we would do the same, what a difference that would make, what a testimony to the world!!

Miracle Morning Ministries is excited to announce that we will be sending TWO "Basket of Blessings" to two missionaries!!! They will be sent in December. We are also very excited to have Swansylvania Baptist Church help sponsor a basket! If you or your church would like to contribute we would love to hear from you. Our number is 931-319-8626! Please help us be a blessing to God's servants across the sea.
1 Timothy 4:4 - "For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:" AMEN!! Here it is. The verse for giving thanks before, or some do it after, you eat. Let's not be ashamed to publicly bow our heads in thanksgiving to God and recieve the ood with true gratitude. I want to challenge each of us to not say "grace" as a robot, but with a true attitude of thankfulness.
Wednesday, November 17, 2010
Nehemiah 12:46 - "For in the days of David & Asaph of old there were chief of the singers, and songs of praise & thanksgiving unto God." - I want to encourage you this Thanksgiving to spend less time with the t.v. & more time with family, thanking God for all He's done for you. Do something different, creative. Pull out some hymns, or worship music & let her fly! God has been good, let's sing His praises this year.
Tuesday, November 16, 2010
2 Timothy 1:3 - "I thank God, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day;" - It won't be long until people will share things for which they are thankful such as family, friends, etc. Paul says he is thanful for God bringing Timothy to his mind for prayer. Do you have someone that you tell that to? If you do it would be encouraging to tell them, if not ask God for such a friend.
Monday, November 15, 2010
Nehemiah 11:17 - "Mattaniah was the principal to begin the thanksgiving in prayer." - Assignments are being given & Mattaniah is put in the sevice of leading thanksgiving in prayer. A position of this kind would need to be filled by a man who was known for being thankful & a prayer warrior. Someone that could inspire others. Does our life reflect such an attitude? I wonder could you or I qualify for such a position?
Friday, November 12, 2010
2 Chronicles 33:16 - "he repaired the altar of the LORD, & sacrificed thank offerings, & commanded Judah to serve the LORD God of Israel." - The "altar of the Lord" is in disrepair today. Christians often fight amongst each other while the world watches & mocks us. We must repair the altar. "How do we do that?" you ask. 1 stone at a time; may I be the first. It is time to obey God. Say "I wil be a living sacrifice."
Thursday, November 11, 2010
Philemon 1:4 - "I thank my God, making mention of thee always in my prayers," - It is appropriate to say "Thank you veterans for all you sacrificed so we have the freedoms we enjoy!" I want to encourage all of us today to say a prayer of gratitude for our veterans. When someone places their life on the line or even willing to do so they are worthy of thanks. Veterans today know that you will be prayed for,Thank you!!
Wednesday, November 10, 2010
2 Chronicles 29:31 - "Hezekiah said, Now ye have consecrated yourselves unto the LORD, come near & bring sacrifices & thank offerings into the house of the LORD. And the congregation brought in sacrifices & thank offerings; & as many as were of a free heart burnt offerings." - Thanksgiving is only worth something if you do it willingly, not because it's that time of year. God is worthy to be praised ALL the time.
Tuesday, November 9, 2010
Revelation 7:12 - "Saying , Amen: Blessing, & glory, & wisdom, & thanksgiving, & honour, & power, & might, be unto our God for ever & ever. Amen." The picture here is beautiful. A sea of people, more than can be counted, are standing before the throne of Almighty God. The people begin to exclaim bursts of praise, worship, and thanksgiving. We need not wait until that day. Let us begin now thank God. He's Worthy!
Monday, November 8, 2010
1 Chronicles 29:13 - "Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name." - This verse comes AFTER the children of Israel gave to the work of the Lord. God had supplied through His children and as a result He was praised. It amazes me the attitude people have after willingky giving to God and His service. They are so thankful. Thanksgiving comes many times after you have given to the Lord. Go, Give.
Friday, November 5, 2010
Luke 18:11 - "The Pharisee stood & prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican." - Yes, I'm going there. We are so quick to thank God that we are not like so & so, but this is called hypocritical thanks. This kind of thanfulness makes God sick! Giving thanks is not meant to make us look good, instead it is meant to humble us.
Thursday, November 4, 2010
1 Chronicles 23:30 - "to stand every morning to thank and praise the LORD, & likewise at even;" - The next generation of Levites were being placed & part of their "job" was to praise God. They were to stand & praise in the morning & in the evening. There were times they did not feel like praising God, yet, they did. We may not "be in the mood to praise God", but no matter; He is still worthy of our thanksgiving.
Wednesday, November 3, 2010
Matthew 11:25 - "At that time Jesus answered and said , I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes." - Jesus is praying & weeping over the judgement to come for cities. In the midst of this he stops & thanks his Father. We can learn that even when we are burdened there is STILL something for which to be thankful.
Tuesday, November 2, 2010
1 Chronicles 16:7 - "Then on that day David delivered first this psalm to thank the LORD into the hand of Asaph and his brethren." - The ark had just been brought back home, excitement was in the air & king David wanted to praise & thank God! So, the 1st thing he did was write a Psalm a.k.a. a song of praise. This month let's not keep our praise silent, but sing to God & praise Him for what He's done for us!
Monday, November 1, 2010
1 Chronicles 16:4 - "And he appointed certain of the Levites to minister before the ark of the LORD, and to record, and to thank and praise the LORD God of Israel:" - This is beginning my favorite time of year! Thanksgiving and Christmas. This month we will be looking at verses that have to do with praising God and thanking Him. God loves to hear our praise, so this month give God thanks & praise all month long!

Proverbs 14:27 - "The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death." - In ths life Satan lays many snares of death. Doubt, fear- as in quaking in fear, procrastination, to name a few. When a person Fears God they will come to Him no matter what seems to be in there way. At the point we come to Jesus we receive a fountain of life that will never run dry. Fear God & experience true life.
Thursday, October 28, 2010
Proverbs 14:26 - "In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: & his children shall have a place of refuge." - To Fear God is to have STRONG confidence. We can be sure that in the end we will win! We ARE right & as we fear God we can rest assured that He will take care of His own. What confidence to know that the God of the universe is watching over those who fear Him. So, if you are in need of confidence, fear God.
Wednesday, October 27, 2010
Proverbs 10:27 - "The fear of the LORD prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened." - Those who don't fear God will be destroyed & there days will be shortened, maybe not on this earth, but imagine how they will fear God once in eternal damnation. Their short lifespan on earth will not mean a thing, yet in heaven those who Fear God have eternal life! Our days have been pronged to equal eternity!
Tuesday, October 26, 2010
Proverbs 9:10 - "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding." - Do you stand in a place where wisdom is needed? Having the fear of God is the first step. I mentioned in an earlier devotional that the Fear of God will bring about obedience to God. It is a wise thing to obey God and to fear Him. If we fear God Depend only on God not your feelings. Fear God = wisdom
Monday, October 25, 2010
Proverbs 8:13 - "The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate." - When we fear God we will hate the things He hates. Here we are given a short list of things that God hates, actually I believe that ALL sin can be defined as the above list. God chose specific words to make up this list. Take a look at it again and ask yourself, "Do I HATE these things?"
Friday, October 22, 2010
Proverbs 2:5 - "Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God." - The verses prior to this is a father telling his son to diligently seek wisdom & understanding. The father says, "Son, not only will he find them, but you will understand the fear of God and find the knowledge of God." Have you sought after wisdom & understanding. Your Father says keep asking & you shall receive.
Thursday, October 21, 2010
Proverbs 1:29 - "For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:" - The Fear of God is more than a great respect, it is a fear of what will happen should we stray from Him. When I was a child I loved my dad, but I feared what would happen were I to disobey him. Every time I was told to do something I had a choice: To fear/obey or not to fear. We have the same choice with God. I choose fear.
Wednesday, October 20, 2010
Proverbs 1:7 - "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction." - When we Fear God for Who He is & What He can do we begin to pay attention to what He says & we gladly receive His instruction. A fool, however, does not fear God & in turn does not learn from his mistakes, instead he gets upset when God tries to teach him anything. The Fear of God is just the beginning!
Tuesday, October 19, 2010
Psalm 34:11 - "Come , ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD." - The Bible tells us that the fear of God is a proccess that must be taught. We are to pass it from generation to generation, after all, why would we not want the blessings of God for our children. This verse speaks to spiritual growth. Every day we should be learning more about God which will bring a stronger fear of God.
Monday, October 18, 2010
Psalm 33:18 - "The eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy;" - Those who fear God will have His eye of protection watching over them. I am grateful perfection is not a requirement for His watchful care, only to fear God. Stop & think about Almighty God, & begin to truly fear our great God. As we do our lives will be changed as we receive His blessings. He will also watch over us.
Friday, October 15, 2010
Psalm 25:14 - "The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant." - What would you think if you received a call from the U.S. president wanting to keep you in the loop? You would have some connections in this world! A person who fears God has cosmic connections. He who fears God can have intimate conversation with Him. How awesome is that?! To fear God means to have God's ear.
Thursday, October 14, 2010
Wednesday, October 13, 2010
2 Chronicles 19:7 - "let the fear of the LORD be upon you; take heed and do it: for there is no iniquity with the LORD our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of gifts." - It's not about age, financial status,or popularity; God is an equal opportunity God. He will destroy ALL wicked. He keeps His word, the wicked have GOOD reason to FEAR. The righteous fear God because of His AWEsome power. Stand in AWE of God.
Tuesday, October 12, 2010
Joshua 24:14 - "fear the LORD, & serve him in sincerity & in truth: & put away the gods which your fathers served... in Egypt; & serve ye the LORD." - A proper Fear of God brings willful obedience. As a childr I loved my dad very much, yet when asked to do something I obeyed, not just for love's sake, but fear of being disciplined if I disobeyed. We should Fear God's discipline. This will bring obedience & love.
Monday, October 11, 2010
Deuteronomy 6:2 - "That thou mightest fear the LORD thy God." - I have heard that the Fear of God is a "respect". Respect is a result of fear. Fear in this verse means "to revere", but it also means "to fear." Fear of God brings obedience to God, obedience to God brings reward, "that thy days may be prolonged." Our Fear of God does not cause us to run away, but toward God Almigty. Don't be afraid of God, Fear Him.

Matthew 5:16 "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." - Are we letting our light shine? Light shines brighter in the darkest of places. You may be in a dark place now. Don't hide your light, instead let it shine brightly and see how God can and will use your light in the dark valley to illuminate the way for others to come to Him.

Matthew 5:10 " Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." - Persecution is not a real familar word in the U.S. We feel we are persecuted when we are called names. A sobering question, "How would my faith stand the threat of physical harm or even death?" Our time may be coming sooner than we want to think. So, are we ready to receive the kingdom of heaven?
Tuesday, October 5, 2010
Matthew 5:9 - "Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God." - It seems we are always seeking happiness in this world, but Jesus plainly speaks of happiness being received through the spiritual world. True happiness does not come through this world that offers bickering, but only through the supernatural world that gives us strength to be peacemakers. Only God offers true happiness.
Monday, October 4, 2010
MAtthew 5:8 "Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God." - God is Pure, Holy, & Righteous. He will not allow ANYHING or ANYONE in His presence that is tainted in any way. This is why we can only come to Him in the name of Jesus. This verse says that those wo are pure in heart will see God. A question to ask, when was the last time you saw God move? Pure motives will bring about a pure God's blessing.
Friday, October 1, 2010
Matthew 5:7 "Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy." - Have you ever heard the saying, "What goes around comes around."? Well, here is a great illustration of that saying. If you are a merciful person, mercy will be shown to you. It is hard at times to be merciful, but it is always right to be merciful. When we do not want to show mercy to others remember the mercy shown to you by God almigty.
Thursday, September 30, 2010
Matthew 5:6 "Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled." - Hunger illustrates a GREAT desire. When a person is hungery the stomach begins to hurt, and strong cravings for food begin to take "control" until the stomach is filled. If you hunger for ANYTHING in this world, you will NEVER be filled. Only when you hunger after righteousness will you be filled and satisfied.
Wednesday, September 29, 2010
Matthew 5:5 "Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth." - People try so hard to get to the top, have the riches, have the fame, and the easy life. Building ourselves up will not get us to the top, it will only cause a big hurt down the road. Do really want to have the world, rule the world; then live a meek life. It matters not who has the "world" now, only who has the "World" through eternity.
Tuesday, September 28, 2010
Matthew 5:4 "Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted." - What causes you to mourn? The Psalmist says "He that goeth forth & weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him." We mourn the loss we experience, but what about the loss of an eternal soul? No? No tears? It's been too long since Christians have had a good mourning. God forgive us.
Monday, September 27, 2010
Matthew 5:3 "Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." The world is full of me first, climbing the corporate ladder & will use anyone for a step on the way up. PRIDE.!! I have found, the higher you build yourself up, the harder the fall and the more it hurts. If Christians would exercise this one be attitude we would not only be great in God's eyes, but ours would be the kingdom of Heaven.

Matthew 9:36 - "But when he (Jesus) saw the multitudes, he (Jesus) was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted , and were scattered abroad , as sheep having no shepherd." - When Jesus looked @ the multitude His heart was moved. What happens when we see the multitude? Do we even see the multitude, hurting & lost? Take time today to pause a moment & see the multitude. Let your heart be stirred to action.

Matthew 4:19 - "And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men." Luke 9:61 - " Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first..." Too many times we try to bargain with God. When we bargain we assume we have something of worth; We don't. As my mom would tell me "No but's about it, just obey....now." When you here God ask you to do something say, "Yes Lord." Then, shut the mouth and move the feet.

Romans 5:3-5 - "3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; 4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope: 5 And hope maketh not ashamed ; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us." - Don't look TO the tribulation look THROUGH the tribulation, for it is on the other side where our faith is reaffirmed!

1 John 1:1 "That which was from the beginning, which we have heard , which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon , and our hands have handled , of the Word of life;" If you ever question the truth of the Bible, read this verse, an eyewitness like this would surely stand true in ANY court! Goid is so good to leave such reaffirming evidence in His Word.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 "16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord." - What can I say? I'm ready, are you? Are our friends & family ready?

1 Samuel 15:22 - "Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice." - The musical Fiddler on the Roof opens with a song about traditions. This verse talks to traditions. We are guilty of the same, we park in the same spot @ church, we sit in the same pew, go to the same place for lunch, etc. We even give the same amount in the offering - TRADITION. God is not interested in our traditions, He's interested in our obedience.

James 1:25 - " he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed." - How many times have you caught yourself in the middle of church service daydreaming, or reading your Bible only to find out you are clueless as to what you read. We are all guilty. We "hear" the Word, but then we forget what was said or what we read. Blessings only come as we DO what we have heard.

Matthew 26:66; 70 - "66 He (Jesus) is guilty of death. 69 Now Peter 70 denied before them all, saying , I know not what thou sayest." - All the apostles deserted Jesus in the time of His greatest need. Jesus, however, comes to us in our hour of need. He says to "Come unto Me all ye that labor & are heavy laden." Jesus is a friend on whom we can ALWAYS depend. Though we DENY Him, He turns TO us in our darkest hour.

Since today is Labor day, here's a Labor day verse. 1 Corinthians 15:58 - "Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord." - Don't forget that though we gat a day off physical labors today, we don't get one off spiritually. Let's keep our tesimony & even take advantage of today to labor for Him.

Looking @ Romans 8 PT. 5 - "38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Remember God is love, so wherever God goes so goes His love & since God is with us & in us His love is ALWAYS with us!

Looking @ Romans 8 PT. 4 - "37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us." - The answer to Paul's question in verse 35 "Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?" is more than NO, we are victorious, through Christ & His love. Take heart Christian friend, when you feel alone & depression looms, look to the cross of Christ & KNOW you are loved, whatever Satan may hurl at you.

Looking @ Romans 8 PT. 3 - "36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter." - The question was posed by Paul in verse 35 - Who shall seperate us from the love of Christ? The question here is can death itself be victorious in seperating us from Christ's love? The answer - no, Christ has defeated death for us. As Stephen in Acts when we die God is there.
Tuesday, August 31, 2010
Looking @ Romans 8 PT. 2 - "35. shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?" - It has been prophesied that these things will take place in the end times. These things will and, in fact, are happening today around the world. Can any of this keep God's Love from us? NO! He said He will never leave us nor forsake us & God is love. Where God goes, so goes His love.
Monday, August 30, 2010
Looking @ Romans 8 PT. 1 - "35. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?" - "How much love does God have?" God's love is bigger, wider, &, greater than our mortal minds can grasp. His thoughts towards us alone are more than can be numbered. So, how much love does God have? It is endless. It reaches you wherever you find yourself. Rejoice in knowing that you are indeed loved by the Almighty's boundless love.

Looking @ Romans 5 PT. 5 - "and rejoice in hope of the glory of God." - Because of where we stand we rejoice in the "hope" or anticipation of the glory of God. There's no hoping, as we understand the word today i.e. I hope I win the game. No we are anxiously, anticipating the day WHEN we are able to see & testify of the glory of God. Even as we face hardships we can wait with great expectation 4 God's revealed glory.

Looking @ Romans 5 PT. 4 - "2. this grace wherein we stand " - The word wherein gives the conotation of being "in something, somewhere i.e. a city". We as Christians are stind in the place called grace. Think of grace as a building. When we stand IN grace what surrounds us?... That's right, the building of grace! As Christians we are surrounded by God's grace!! Where sin did abound Grace did MUCH MORE ABOUND!! GLORY!!
Wednesday, August 25, 2010
Looking @ Romans 5 PT. 3 - "2. we have access by faith into this grace" - Faith is the key that opens MANY doors in the Christian walk. By simply placing our faith in the finished work of Christ we have been given GREAT access to the door of justification, peace with God, & the gate to grace. WOW!! With this access there is 1 command God calls us to; go tell others of this wondrous gift & how to receive it. By FAITH.
Tuesday, August 24, 2010
Looking @ Romans 5 PT. 2 - "1. we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." A battle is raging for peoples souls today. People are hurting & in need of help. The world is seeking a peace that will last. (Just listen to the news.) The fact is they will NOT find it. Lasting peace is only found through Jesus. While the world is falling apart around us, fear not. As a Christian you have peace with God Himself.
Monday, August 23, 2010
Looking @ Romans 5 PT. 1 -"1. justified by faith" - Justified means that before God it is JUST as IF I had never sinnED. When God looks @ me He sees Christ's blood, not my sin. He paid all the cost of our sin - DEATH!! All we have to do is come to Him and place our faith in Him. We are justified by faith. We, as Christians should take this message to a lost, hoopeless, and dying world. Why be so selfish not to tell?

Matthew 28:20 - lo , I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.- We can discuss sports, cooking, or weather, but when it comes to Jesus we say "it's to personal." Is it worth talking to someone about the physical world only when that person may spend eternity in a literal burning lake of fire? We are not alon...e, Jesus is with us. Take Him by the hand through prayer & go tell others the gospel.

Matthew 28:18 - "And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying , All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth." - Jesus did not simply command us to preach the gospel without having any authority to do so. In fact He has ALL authority and ALL POWER!! He said thatwe can go in His name and depend on His power. This means that we don't have to try in our fleshly power, we can rely on the Almighty's power. So let's go!

Mark 16:15 - "he said Go, and preach the gospel to every creature." - Christians today try to pick & choose to whom they share the gospel. This is not what we have been comanded. We are to tell EVERYONE. It makes no difference whether they are wealthy, poor, neat, messy, sweet smelling, or sour smelling. We are to share the gospel. It will only matter at the judgement if we have shared the gospel to every creature.

Mark 16:15 - "he said, Go, preach the gospel" - "God News Good News Christ died for me, Good news, Good news, if I believe Good news Good news I'll live eternqlly that's wonderful EXTRA Good News!" This is exactly what we are tell others. We are sinners, deserving hell, but Jesus died on an old rugged cross, rose again the 3rd day, & is set at theright hand of God. Let's go the world this great news i.e. the gospel!

Mark 16:15 - " he said, Go...,preach" As we go into the world we are given specific instructions of what to do. We are ALL to preach - proclaim openly & BOLDLY the gospel. We can give to those who do this, but we are PERSONALLY going to be held accountable for what we did PERSONALLY to proclaim the gospel. When you & I stand before God our Judge, what will He say about our "PREACHING". Commit today to BOLDLY PREACH.

Mark 16:15 - "Go ye into all the world" - While I know we can't reach the entire world alone we can help others who are called to go where we can't. We can help: Physically: Short term missions trip. Financially: Give help fulfill the great commission. Spiritually: Pray for the needs of misionaries. Ask yourself, "Am I 'Going into all the world'?" If not, let MMM help you to accomplish this goal. Send us a message.

The bombing begins in five minutes." The statement was picked up by live TV cameras and carried worldwide.

Mark 16:15 - "Go ye" - When Jesus tells the apostles to go He specifies who is to go. "Ye". When God gives us a command He does not expect us to "pass the torch", He expects "ME" to do it. Too many Christians say "o.k. Lod, I will pass the message along to the pastor or the deacons and let them know what You said." NO, NO. We are to say "Yes Lord, I will go." We MUST stop putting off, while the world goes to Hell.

Mark 16:15 - "He said...Go" - When Jesus spoke to His apostles the first word required action, "Go". After 2,000 years that one word still echos in our hearts. "Go." Christ expects us to take action for His kingdom. We must grasp the importance of this action. We SAY we love the world, but how will they know unless we Christians get up from our "lazyboy's" & take action. "Who will Go?" "Here am I Lord send me."

A Quote for Today...
Even in literature and art, no man who bothers about originality will ever be original: whereas if you simply try to tell the truth (without caring twopence how often it has been told before) you will, nine times out of ten, become original without ever having noticed it. C. S. Lewis

Mark 16:15 - "And he said unto them," Jesus is about to say something that will truly change the world. The apostles heard & obeyed, though to them, it was a scary thought. What if Jesus were to ask you to do something that scared you? What if He called you to leave your comfort zone? Would you still obey? Be ready, be listening because soon Jesus will turn to you and speak. When He does you MUST give an answer...

Psalm 117 - "...Praise ye the LORD" Matthew 28:18 "And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying , All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth." - I trust these past weeks have been as much a blessing to you as they have been to me. This is reason of 20 to PTL even when life gets difficult. Our God/ Jesus is ALL POWERFUL so no matter what comes our way He can handle it. When life gets hard turn to Jesus!!! PTL!!!

Psalm 117 - "...Praise ye the LORD" Reason 19 to Praise the Lord - Psalm 46:1 "God is a very present help in trouble." - When I worked construction I didn't know A THING about the job. I could only be a present help. After 3 yrs. I was assigned "actual" jobs, why? Because I became a VERY present help. God does not only want to be with you in trouble but carry you, He is a very present help in time of trouble. PTL!!!

Psalm 117 - "...Praise ye the LORD" Reason 18 to Praise the Lord - Psalm 46:1 "God is our refuge ." - When a tornado, hurricane, or any other natural disaster strikes, what is the first thing people look for? A refuge from the storm. A refuge means safety, security, & strength. When heartache, depression, or any other Spiritual or Emotional disaster comes our way we can run to God our refuge from the storm. PTL!!!

Psalm 117 - "...Praise ye the LORD" Reason 17 to Praise the Lord - 2 Corinthians 1:20 "For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen." Man may not keep always keep his promise. Many things can happen, he may forget, circumstances may come up, or he may become distracted. We can PTL because though man may not always keep his promise. God ALWAYS will. Psalm 117 - "...Praise ye the LORD" Reason 16 to Praise the Lord (PTL) - Matthew 11:28 - "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." - When in the valley of despair there is someone who is there. His name is, Burden bearer, Rest, & Strength but we must go to Him & give Him the heavy burden. He is ever ready, willing, & MORE than able to help. PTL because He is in your valley.

Psalm 117 - "...Praise ye the LORD" Reason 15 to Praise the Lord (PTL) - Romans 5:20 - "But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:" Once we realize the horrificness of sin we become overwhelmed (sin abounds). Once we reach this point & turn to God, His grace sweeps in victorious over our sin (grace did MUCH MORE abound)! We can PTL because His grace is greater than ALL our sin! PTL for this truth!

Psalm 117 - "...Praise ye the LORD" Reason 14 to Praise the Lord (PTL) - Matthew 19:26 - "26 Jesus said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible." He spoke & the universe was created from nothing. He split the red sea, caused the earth to stand still, left the eternal to became mortal, became sin for us, & will return for us. Sound impossible? Not to an all powerful God. PTL
Psalm 117 - "...Praise ye the LORD" Reason 14 to Praise the Lord (PTL) - Matthew 19:26 - "26 Jesus said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible." It may seem inpossible that things will work out for you, however remember, when you get to the end of your rope, God is waiting for you there. He can, has, does, & will do the impossible. So, if you don't know who to turn to tuen to God & Praise Him, in advance for doing the impossible..

Psalm 117 - "...Praise ye the LORD" Reason 14 to Praise the Lord (PTL) - Matthew 19:26 - "26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible." Have you ever been in an impossible situation that you just didn't know how it was going to work out? No mater what you're facing God CAN do the impossible. Psalm 117 - "...Praise ye the LORD" Reason 13 to Praise the Lord (PTL) - Psalm 147:1 "Praise ye the LORD: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; & praise is comely. " When life is hard & you're asking why you should praise the Lord. Just remember, to God your praise is good, pleasent, and beautiful! After all the great things God has given us I don't think praise is too much to ask. Do you?

Psalm 117 - "...Praise ye the LORD" Reason 13 to Praise the Lord (PTL) - Psalm 147:1 "Praise ye the LORD: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely. " Simply because it is a beautiful thing to praise the Lord. When we praise Him it "blesses" Him and in turn He blesses us. I have noticed when I am the most hurt, that if I will PTL He will lift my spirit and give me joy.

Psalm 117 - "...Praise ye the LORD" Reason 12 to Praise the Lord (PTL) - Psalm 146:10 "The LORD shall reign for ever, even thy God, O Zion, unto all generations. Praise ye the LORD." We can become greatly discouraged because our leaders fail us often. As Christians we are not bound by the authorities of this Earth. We must answer to a higher Authority; God. He is King forever and NOONE will ever dethrone Him; PTL!!!

Psalm 117 - "...Praise ye the LORD" Reason 11 to Prasie the Lord - Psalm 142:4-5 "4 I looked on my right hand, and beheld , but there was no man that would know me: refuge failed me; no man cared for my soul. 5 I cried unto thee, O LORD: I said , Thou art my refuge and my portion in the land of the living." When everyone around you has failed you and there seems to be noone that cares for you, PTL because HE does!!!
Tuesday, July 6, 2010
Psalm 117 - "...Praise ye the LORD" Reason 10 to Praise the Lord - Psalm 145:8 " The LORD is gracious." Some people view God as a God that is vindictive & looking for an oppportunity to "pounce" on someone and condemn them. This thinking comes straight from the pits of Hell. God is gracious. He is not willing that ANY should perish... people perish because of decisions they make, NOT God. PTL 4 His graciousness!!

Let's not forget 2 Chronicles 7:14 - "14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." Let's put this verse into practice & see if God will keep His promise.
Psalm 117 - "...Praise ye the LORD" Reason #9 to Praise the Lord. Hebrews 7:25 - "25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him..." We can praise the Lord because when He saves a person He does it ALL the way!! He saves, not partially or partly, but completely and utterly from hell for all eternity. PRAISE THE LORD!!

Psalm 117 - "...Praise ye the LORD" Reason #8 to Praise the Lord (PTL) - Psalm 139:14 "14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made..." Just as an artist takes delicate, painstaking, and maticulate care of his masterpiece so God takes care of His masterpiece, you and me. We are delicately, carefully, and wonderfully made by the Master Artist. We are made EXACTLY the way He intended. For this PTL!!!
