Yes, we have failed God this passed year, but God's grace has been with us and God's strength is with us as we face a new and exciting year! We must not let depression stop us, instead we must press on knowing that in the end VICTORY is OURS!

If you were asked to give a Christmas verse, what would it be? Luke 2, Matthew 1, what about Romans 6:23, or John 3:16? These last two verses are not normally thought of as Christmas verses, yet they both tell the whole story of Christmas in each verse. Romans 6:23 says that God gives a gift that we cannot buy or earn and John 3:16 tells us why Jesus came - to give His life for our sins. He came because He loves us!

As I sat in apologetics class, we gave the correct definition of truth. TRUTH is any theing that corrisponds with reality. As I thought about that statement, I remembered when Jesus was praying in John 17 He said in verse 17 "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth." What does this mean? God's Word Corresponds with reality! It is not a distant book, that is irrelevent today. It is just the opposite.

If you find yourself saying "I don't have time for quiet time." You're simply TOO BUSY.

I wonder what was going through the Shepherd's minds as they saw one angel proclaiming Christ's birth, then out of nowhere.... BAM!!! A HOST of angels singing!! Let me add here that God has a "flare" for the dramatic, in my opinion. That aside, the encounter drove the shepherd's to Christ to worship. Oh that we would have an "encounter" this Christmas season that would drive us to simply worship God.

Mark 16:15 - "Go ye" - When Jesus tells the apostles to go He specifies who is to go. "Ye". When God gives us a command He does not expect us to "pass the torch", He expects "ME" to do it. Psalm 117 - "...Praise ye the LORD" Reason 13 to Praise the Lord (PTL) - Psalm 147:1 "Praise ye the LORD: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely. Psalm 117 - "...Praise ye the LORD" Reason 10 to Praise the Lord - Psalm 145:8 " The LORD is gracious."
