A Quote for Today...
The true call of a Christian is not to do extraordinary things, but to do ordinary things in an extraordinary way. Dean Stanley

Psalm 37:7 - "fret not thyself... because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass." - Fret not is another way of saying Don't worry. How many Christians have become discouraged because they looked @ the wickedness of this world & began to fret. This verse tells us to Rest, Wait, & Fret not. Let God deal with the wicked, you live a bold Christian life. As long as you fret you can do nothing effective for God.

Ps. 37:7 "Rest in the LORD, & wait patiently for him:" - Here is the "p" word. Noone wants to pray for it, yet everyone needs it. We are warned to stay away from this word if we don't want to go through trials. The problem with that is without this word we become anxious, even panicked! Yet the Bible tells us over & over to be PATIENT - There I said it! The Lord will come through, I promise... better yet He promises.

Psalm 37:7 "Rest in the LORD" - We can find rest in the Lord, for He has promised that He will exchange His rest for our burdens. Yet we struggle on with our burdens, tired, exhausted. It's as if we WANT to have stress, worry, & frustrations. If you are tired of living under the pressure of this life then turn it over to God. If you find yourself between a rock and a hard place, turn to the One who can move the rock.

Psalm 37:6 - "& he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, & thy judgment as the noonday." - The preceeding verse tells us to commit our ways to God & trust Him. You may not be recognized in this world for taking a stand for right, but God is keeping record & 1 day your righteous acts & godly judgement will be brought to light as the noonday! Keep courage friend, God sees your every step. Stay faithful.

Psalm 37:5 - "Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; & he shall bring it to pass." Once we get to the point where all is committed to God and we trust Him then God will bless the way we go, because God's way becomes our way. What a blessing to know that I may not have the most expensive or best in this world , but we will be blessed as we commit & trust. Today let God's way become yours.

Psalm 37:5 "Commit thy way unto the LORD" - This verse does not say commit thy problems to the Lord. Too many times we only talk to God about takiing our burdens from us. What about your decision of how to spend that extra cash you found betwen the cushions? Sound Extreme? The Bible says to commmit thy way, this means EVERYTHING to Him, & until we do we cannot receive God's fullest blesings. Today commit ALL to Him.

Psalm 37:4 - "Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart." - When we ask God for the desire of our heart we do not always get it. Why? Because we are not always delighting in God. As we Delight in the Lord our request will become less selfish and more selfless. This is when we WILL receive the desires of our heart, because our heart will desire to help others NOT ourselves.

Psalm 37: 4 - "Delight thyself also in the LORD;." - What or who do you find delight in? Job, a Hobby, a social status, a spouse, an athlete, a sport? Whatever we find delight in we will spend more time doing & whoever we find delight in we will spend more time with. Where does God rank? do you look forward to prayer & devotions or is it simply a duty? Take inventory today to see if you TRULY delight in the Lord.

Psalm 37:3 "Trust in the LORD, & do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, & verily thou shalt be fed." - Do not trust in the Lord & DO nothing. Instead place your cares on the Almighty & do good. Do not soak & sour about your situation. A person may trust that God will take care of them, & still be vengeful. This will NOT get you God's blessings. What will? Doing good for others even in the midst of trials.

Psalm 37:3 "Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed." - The first four words of this verse is KEY to a blessed life. We must learn to teust in the Lord and let Him have control of every situation. So many times we place our cares on Him only to take them back again. Instead we should place our burdens on him and TRUST Him. He is Almighty He can handle ANYTHING!

Ps. 55:1 "Give ear to my prayer, O God; & hide not thyself from my supplication." God does hear when we cry out to Him. He is ever listening for our prayers. However, let us go to God with just needs, but go to Him with prayers of praise. In Gen 24 God answered the prayers of Abraham's servant before he was even done praying. The servant did not ask God for something else, instead He praised God for what He had done.

In 1997: Sheridan, Wyoming, library workers located the rightful owner of a treasure uncovered in a donated set of the 1934 Collier's Encyclopedia. The $40-thousand in government bonds, $2,600 in cash, and several rare coins hidden in one volume went to Mary Petit of Norfolk, Virginia, whose husband had hidden it there before he died 12 years earlier.

1 Thess. 5:24 "Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it." - God has called all of us to be witnesses. I'm thankful that when God calls us to do something we do not have to worry about the outcome, we only need to obey & let God worry about the outcome. He is faithful to do what He has called US to do. We just need to be a willing vessel for His use. How open & willing are you to be used of God today?

Psalm 1:1-2 - "Blessed is the man...delight is in the law of the LORD; & in his law doth he meditate day & night." - Do you enjoy a meal you just scarf down? I don't. I enjoy the meals I take time to let the flavor sink in as I slowly chew. God's Word is the same. We must not scarf down our devo's, but enjoy it over the long haul. Try this and you WILL be blessed. You will be amazed at your spiritusl growth!

"Psalm 1:1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful." - God has plainly laid out the way to be blessed. Here we can see who God will not bless. Those who listen to the ungodly, have friends that are living a sinful lifestyle, or those who buddy up to those who cause trouble. God will not bless those living in sin.

Proverbs 3:6 - "In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." - The 3 letter word "all" makes this a difficult verse. While we will readily acknowledge God in "some" of our ways the word ALL requires much more. It is only when we acknowledge God in ALL our ways that we will be directed by God Himself. So surrender today to acknowledge God as commander in everything & hold on for the ride!

Proverbs 3:5 -"Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; & lean not unto thine own understanding." - Often times we get into trouble here. We trust God when life is easy however, life gets hard & we ask God if He really knows what He's doing. Remember, when you're tossed by life's storms God is in control of the storm. Stop trying to understand what God is doing. TRUST Him. Ask God to help you learn & lean on Him.

Ps. 46 - "1 God is our refuge & strength, a very present help in trouble. 2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, & though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; 3 Though the waters thereof roar & be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah." - We look around & we can see that it is falling apart. Christian, do not be worried. Look up Christ is coming SOON!
