A Quote to contemplate...

I heard the bells on Christmas Day
Their old, familiar carols play,
And wild and sweet
The words repeat
Of peace on earth, good-will to men! - Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Here it is the last day of November! Tommorrow is December 1st. Around this time every year I become very nostalgic. I begin to think of the past year. What I have accomplished, what I wishI'd accomplish, and what I WANT to accomplish next year. I use this time of year to evaluate my life and the progress made. Take a moment and take spiritual inventory. How have you grown this year? What do you want to do better in?

A Quote to contemplate...

The only real blind person at Christmas time is he who has not Christmas in his heart. - Helen Keller
It's Monday!!!! Today has "acted" like a Monday. If it can go wrong... it has. I'm thankful that though everything around me goes wrong, thoug I'm late to work, though the computers throw fits, that God NEVER has a "Monday"! Nor does God EVER make a mistake, God is NEVER late, God NEVER does anything wrong, and (though I throw fits) God NEVER throws fits!! AMEN!!!! Share this if you agree!!

False Confession Day

I bet you have been waiting for today, in eager anticipation. For some unknown, reason, the creator of this day, thought it would be fun to encourage false confessions.

a few do's and don't's: 1. Don't falsely confess to a crime. 2. Don't falsely report someone lost, killed or injured. 3. Do confess to kissing your dog on the lips.
As hard as it is to believe Thanksgiving is only 4 days away! Soon we will be sitting around the table with a feast set before us. Thursday one of the biggest concerns most will have is, "Should I start with the turkey, stuffing, or desert?" After we COMPLETELY stuff ourselves full we will sit & say one thing, maybe two, for which we are thankful. The challenge is to not stop being thankful after thanksgiving dinner.

O.k. so today's holiday is not even worth mentioning! But DON'T worry I've got your back. I have discovered that this month is -

Peanut Butter Lovers Month

Now THAT's worth the mentin, can I get an AMEN!!??
God is good. When life is easy, God is good. When life is hard, God is good. When we are right with God, God is good. When we're in sin, God is good. God NEVER changes. He is ALWAYS good. What changes? US, sinful man. Life is hard not because of God but because of sin. You can't say God doesn't exist because of the evil in the world! You can however KNOW He exists because of the GOOD in the world. The mercy, the love. GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME!!!

Great American Smokeout Day

The goal of this special day is quite obvious: to get people to quit smoking, resulting in fewer health problems, and less cancer and emphysema deaths resulting from smoking and secondary smoke.
Faithful - is this a word that would describe us? Are we faithful to do what is right? Are we faithful to say what's right, think what's right? Are we faithful to tell others about Christ? To invite others to church? To read our devotions? Have our prayer time? I have come to learn that God blesses those who are faithful to Him. If you are seeking God's blessing, be faithful to Him. The blessings will come.

More about Veteran's Day - On November 11 at 11:11, 1921 the U.S. France and England each buried an unknown soldier in honor of those who died in World War I. This began the annual Armistice Day holiday. The time and day was picked because fighting ceased in WWI in 1918 on November 11 at 11:11. In keeping with this tradition, work stops on this day and time each year for a moment of silence.
Veterans Day was originally called Armistice Day & was first celebrated in 1921. In 1954, President Eisenhower changed it to Veteran's Day in honor of those who served & died from all wars.

Veterans Day - honors all members of the Armed Forces who who served this country valiantly. They served and fought to protect us, to keep our country safe, & to preserve our way of life. Veterans gave their time, and risked their lives for you & me. In some cases, they made the ultimate sacrifice.
Rom. 13:7 "Render therefore to all their dues honour to whom honour." Today we give honor to whom honor is due; our beloved veterans. It is because of your sacrifice that we are able to enjoy the freedoms we enjoy today. Thank you for your gift to us. The gift of freedom.

As I was reading Daniel 6 yesterday when I came across "Now the king spake and said unto Daniel, Thy God whom thou servest continually, he will deliver thee." WHOA!!! Did you catch that? Daniel was about to be thrown into a lions den to be eaten for supper. This UNSAVED king said that Daniel's God - whom he served CONTINUALLY - would save! I wonder of it could be said of us that we serve God CONTINUALLY?

Bittersweet Chocolate with Almonds Day
"Why?" is a question people like to ask while going through a hard time. "WHY do I have to suffer?" "WHY the evil?", WHY would a loving God allow something so bad to happen?" WHY... Here's the other side of "Why" "WHY did God give His life for me?" "WHY does God bless me with another breath of life?" "WHY does God love me?" Here is the other side of WHY, we don't deserve God's love, yet He freely gives it to us, WHY?

Quote 2day...

"I lack the fervency, vitality, life, in prayer which I long for. I know that many consider it fanaticism when they hear anything which does not conform to the conventional, sleep-inducing eulogies so often rising from Laodicean lips; but I know too that these same people can acquiescently tolerate sin in their lives and in the church without so much as tilting one hair of their eyebrows." - Jim Elliot

People try many things to find complete satisfaction. Some will search for riches, comfort, vacations, sports, games, family, work, etc. At the end EVERYONE comes to the same conclusion, none of this gives complete satisfaction. Complete satisfaction is found, not in GETTING, but GIVING. Give your heart, decisions, time, riches, family, work, sports, life to God. Only then will you find COMPLETE satisfaction.

All Souls Day

The holiday of All Soul's Day pays respect & remembers the souls of all friends & loved ones who have died & gone to heaven. All Souls Day was started in 998.
Often people will pray to their lost loved ones and even ask for special favors.
All Souls Day is sometimes called the "Day of the Dead". - This is a Catholic Holiday with which I strongly disagreee with... but there you have it.
Psalm 57:10 - "thy mercy is great unto the heavens" - If you find yourself in a tough situation, not knowing what to thank God for, look up into the heavens. God's mercy is as great as the sky/ heaven's. As long as you can see the sky whether cloudy, or sunny. You can thank God for His mercy. God's mercy withhold's God's righteous judgment. We do not get what we deserve because of God's mercy. Be thankful for that.

Historically, All Saints Day was known as Hallomas. All Saints Day & All Souls Day was originally in May. But, if moved the christian holidays to this time periods, the pagan holidays would slowly die
