A Quote for Today...
How different our lives are when we really know what is deeply important to us, and keeping that picture in mind, we manage ourselves each day to be and to do what really matters most. Stephen Covey

Corban got upset at Harmony & told Her "I'm gonna pray God punishes you!" Harmony keenly replied, "I'll hide in the closet." Corban then shouted "You can't hide from God!" This sounds like MANY Christians who get upset at their brother or sister in the Lord. We pray for them, but we pray for God's judgement. Don't forgett hat God has seen what you did too. Corban was right, YOU can't hide from God. Pray in love.

My family and I have been watching the British series Robin Hood. Little John (on this series) says "Today is a good day to die" just before he goes into a fight. Christians, I say to you, "Today is a good day to LIVE." Liv e for Christ, live for others, live with honor, live in humility, live in the power of Christ & His blood, live victorious, live contented, live in faith. Yes, today is indeed a good day to LIVE!!

"Leaning on Jesus, Leaning on Jesus, Safe & Secure from all alarm..." - This wonderful hymn speaks of the confidence we find in Christ, knowing He will not let us fall. When you lean on something or Someone, you are putting complete confidence in that object or Person. If either move you WILL fall. Here is confidence: God is the same yesterday, today, and forever...He will never move & He WILL hold you... Lean Today.

Romans 8:37 - "Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us." You may not think of yourself as a mighty warrior, but the Bible has something different to say. God has made you MORE than conquerors. I don't know what battle you find yourself in today, but I DO know that if you let God fight for you He WILL get you through and you will come out MORE than a conqueror!

Psalm 37:37 "Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright:" - I understand that men fail, but in our verse we are told to observe godly men. My dad, P. Mike Wright, P. Tim Bufford, P. Fred Allred have taught me invaluable lessons. I want to say THANK YOU. I am who I am because God placed these GREAT men in my life. Do you have someone that is your "hero"? Thank them & more importantly pray & thank God for them.

Matthew 19:2 - "great multitudes followed him; and he healed them there." - I am thankful God is my healer. Jesus heals all who come to him. You or aloved one may have an illness & you have prayed for healing. Jesus will heal His children. He will either raise them up here on earth or they will be eternally healed as they open eyes to see streets of gold. Do not ever think that Jesus does NOT still heal, He does.

Amazing Grace How sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me! John Newton saw himself as a despicable person, a wretch. He realized that there was nothing good in him. The story today is a bit different. We don't want to see ourselves as "worm, wretch, etc." instead we say, "Thank God He saved me, but I was not THAT bad!" REALLY? If you are a sinner you (& I) are no more than a lowly wretch, NOT DESERVING Christ.

Today is the day we tell our loved ones that we love them. We share cards, candy, and a specially planned evening. It ws over two thousand years ago that God showed His love for us when He took our sins upon Himself and died on a cruel rugged cross. We can now share in the sweetness of heaven because of His love. He also gave us a "love letter" called the Bible and every day He has something special planned for us.

John 13:34 - "A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another." Christians are to love each other as Christ loves us. This is a difficult thing for Christians at times. We often cause devision and the lost wonder what the difference is between them and us. Let me encourage all of us to love each other more and SHOW the world the difference.

Luke 23:34 - "Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them;" - Jesus, iinnocently hanging on the cross, could have easily been upset at those who were responsible for the pain He suffered, instead He asked His Father to forgive them. Have you found yourself in a place of pain by those around you. Do you "curse" them or ask God to forgive them? Let this mind be in you that was in Christ...the mind of forgiveness.

My family & I were headed home after church when we saw a house engulfed in flames. We were driving away & in jest I told Holly "I should have run up to the house with my bottle of water & pour it on the fire & say 'I've done my part'!" Truth is, we are all guilty of this. We see someone in need we pour a little water on the flame and say "Well, I've done my part!" Instead we should grab the water hose & REALLY help.

Matthew 6:11 - "Give us this day our daily bread." - This verse is used to point out that we are to relly on God for our daily physical bread. I submit to you today that it is more than that. Jesus is the bread of life & the Word. We must "break bread" daily in order to partake. What do I mean? I mean we should have our daily devotions. I wonder how much food we would eat if we ate as much as we read God's Word.

Missionary Mike Mislan wrote the following -"SHE FLINCHED IN PAIN as I shook her hand. "I'm sorry" I said. "What happened to your hand?" With blisters in her palms and joy on her face, she explained how she had spent all day in the hot afternoon sun, to earn money to give to Missions by bundling rice! I was honored to be her pastor, but humbled as a missionary" - What sacrifices have we made to help support missions.
