So many times we pay too much attention to those around us. We hear the world say "God is not good" We hear the Devil say "If God were good this world would not be in the shape it's in." We listen to our emotions when they say "Noone cares about what your doing." We fall in to depression, forgetting to hear the MOST important voice. God, says "Cast all your care on Me because I DO care.." JOHN 3:16 - GOD IS GOOD.

Last night I took the kids to McDoald's. After the kids ate they ran off to play. I finished eating then, I went to watch the kids. They ended up talking me into the big tubes and sliding down the slide - I made sure noone was watching! It was a great time. So what does this mean? It means that we should try to spend LESS time with the business of this season and MORE time with the family. It WILL create a memory.

Don't let anything disturb the peace, quiet, and serenity of your bath. Turn off your cell phone. Put on your favorite CDs to a volume where you can't hear the doorbell ring.

Yesterday Harmony turned 4 years old. As we were talking about birthday's I began to think of Dec. 25 Jesus' birthday. I realize that many people claim Jesus is NOT God, however consider this... Matt. 2:1-6 points out that HUNDREDS of years earlier it was told the EXACT town where Jesus, the Christ would be born. I know this, Harmony did not CHOSE where she was born, yet Jesus DID. Why? Could it be because He IS God?

MMM friends... Some have seen my blogtalkradio brodcast I post every Saturday. I have two of them "War on Weight" - 15 minutes long and "Consider This...Consider That" 30 minutes long. I think I have pik eye. Both my eyes are red and while my eyes re not light sensetive, I can only look at the computer screen for a few seconds at a time. I began to think about "eye" protection. So many things in this world catch our eye. $, things, positions, people. Let the Bible be our "Eye " protection. When we begin to look & lust, turn away quickly. Pray for spiritual "pink eye". Look @ God NOT the world.

It's Monday!!!! Today has "acted" like a Monday. If it can go wrong... it has. I'm thankful that though everything around me goes wrong, thoug I'm late to work, though the computers throw fits, that God NEVER has a "Monday"! As hard as it is to believe Thanksgiving is only 4 days away! Soon we will be sitting around the table with a feast set before us. Thursday one of the biggest concerns most will have is, "Should I start with the turkey, stuffing, or desert?" After we COMPLETELY stuff ourselves full we will sit & say one thing, maybe two, for which we are thankful. The challenge is to not stop being thankful after thanksgiving dinner.

More about Veteran's Day - On November 11 at 11:11, 1921 the U.S. France and England each buried an unknown soldier in honor of those who died in World War I. This began the annual Armistice Day holiday. The time and day was picked because fighting ceased in WWI in 1918 on November 11 at 11:11. In keeping with this tradition, work stops on this day and time each year for a moment of silence.

As I was reading Daniel 6 yesterday when I came across "Now the king spake and said unto Daniel, Thy God whom thou servest continually, he will deliver thee." WHOA!!! Did you catch that? Daniel was about to be thrown into a lions den to be eaten for supper. This UNSAVED king said that Daniel's God - whom he served CONTINUALLY - would save! Today is... King Tut Day
King Tutankhamen became the King of Egypt at the age of 9. He died at the age of 19. He is commonly called "King Tut". The tomb of Egypt's "child king" was discovered on November 4, 1922. It was nearly intact in Egypt's Valley of Kings.
Celebrate today by spending a little time with the Egyptian history books. Learn more about King Tut, along with the culture and times of Ancient Egypt.

The holiday of All Soul's Day pays respect & remembers the souls of all friends & loved ones who have died & gone to heaven. All Souls Day was started in 998.
Often people will pray to their lost loved ones and even ask for special favors.
All Souls Day is sometimes called the "Day of the Dead". - This is a Catholic Holiday with which I strongly disagreee with... but there you have it.

Psalm 57:10 - "thy mercy is great unto the heavens" - If you find yourself in a tough situation, not knowing what to thank God for, look up into the heavens. God's mercy is as great as the sky/ heaven's. As long as you can see the sky whether cloudy, or sunny. You can thank God for His mercy. God's mercy withhold's God's righteous judgment. We do not get what we deserve because of God's mercy. Be thankful for that.

Historically, All Saints Day was known as Hallomas. All Saints Day & All Souls Day was originally in May. They were moved to November 1st & 2nd to downplay the Pagan holidays of Halloween & Dia De Loss Muertos. Religious leaders felt these holidays were too popular at the time to ban outright. But, if moved the christian holidays to this time periods, the pagan holidays would slowly die

I don't deserve it, but it's mine. I didn't think I needed it, but without it hell was my destiny. I said I'd be ok, but I was dead without it. I tried my own way, but found myself in a deep pit that I couldn't get out. Then He came by. He gave me what I didn't deserve, what I desperately needed, & the only thing that would give life to my lifeless soul. "What is it?" Jesus gave me mercy & along with that, His grace.

My brother (Gregg) was invited to Hindu temple the other week. He had been talking about Jesus to someone. He invited them to church and in turn he was invited to the temple. This Hindu showed Gregg a little image and said this is the god I pray to. When Gregg told me that I thought how glad I am that I do not hold my "god" but my God holds ME!!! HE is ALMIGHTY and needs no help. No need to carry Him, He's got me!

I come naked, full of shame, guilt, & scarred by sin. He bends and cleanses me. He places a clean white robe of righteousness on me. Wormwood in this passage affects many people, it kills them. Many times when we are bitter we are spiritual wormwood. We affect others & may even kill their spirits. Proverbs 25:11 - "A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver."- Open mouth, insert foot. These are the directions I followed earlier this week. I knew that I was right. The Bible supported my stance, STILL I used words that were not fitly spoken. If a person is wrong we should tell them-that's biblical-but we should PRAY before speaking to that person & let GOD speak through you. Lesson learned.

Gal. 5:22 "the fruit of the Spirit is longsuffering" - People say NOT to pray for patience. God, sometimes, just gives us a crash course. 1 month ago my family car was put in the shop, we got it back, paid $1,700 for it & within 45 minutes it had stalled on us AGAIN! Now we are back to using our gas hog truck & cramming a family of 5 into it. Thank you Lord for your many lessons You teach us day by day.

2 Kings 18:7 "he prospered whithersoever he went forth " - King Hezekiah was a great king. One that depended on the LORD, & as a result he was blessed. He prospered everywhere he went. Prosperity does not always come in money. It comes in many forms such as friends, courage, peace, strength, love, etc. This is the "Life more abundantly" that we may have through Christ. A victorious life in Christ. What a thought!

So, "How obediant are you?" Do you obey the commands of God? We are to "Go tell", love our enemies, be faithful to church, etc. These are not the only commands of God. 2 Kings 18:6 "& departed not from following him (LORD)," - King Hezekiah did not only cleave to God but he did not depart from following His will. When God said "Do this..." Hezekiah said "Yes , LORD". King Hezekiah had the guts to follow God even when it didn't make him poular. It would be nice to have political leaders like that today. Question - Can people say you do not depart from following God?

In 2 Kings 18:6 we are told this of King Hezekiah. "For he clave to the LORD" Hezekiah did not trust God when it was convenient no, he trusted God all the time in everything. He did so in a way that it said he "clave" to God. Not just hold on to God, but clave, as if God was his lifeline. We cleave to those things, people, places that are most important to us. It's time to let go of the world & CLEAVE to God.

King Hezekiah did not stop with simply destroying false gods. 2 Kings 18:5 tells us that he trusted in the LORD. It is important that we not only rip out the false gods of our lives, but that we replace the with God Almighty. We must learn to trust God. Especially when Satan tempts us to do wrong, go back to the sin you have placed under the blood of Jesus. We must learn to lean on God & trust Himlike never before.

Holly's granddad passed away so we went to the funeral in Ar. While on the way back to TN our car broke down. Here is a great lesson. We all know life doesn't work out perfectly, yet it's always a shock when things go wrong. I had a great time with my kids as we walked the streets of the beautiful small town we were stranded in yesterday. We simply need to rely on God and not fret when everything comes unravelled.

So, what made Hezekiah such a great king? 1st off Hezekiah forsook the false gods of his father and turned to the 1 true God. 2 Kings 18:4 - He removed the high places, and brake the images, and cut down the groves, and brake in pieces the brasen serpent that Moses had made : for unto those days the children of Israel did burn incense to it: and he called it Nehushtan." We must do the same - destroy the false gods.

Hezekiah began to reign iover Juda after his father died. While 2 kings 16 tells us that Hezekiah's father was a wicked king, 2 Kings 18 tells us God's report on Hezekiah. " he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that David his father did ...so that after him was none like him among all the kings of Judah, nor any that were before him." Oh that God would think so highly of us today!

Wicked King Ahaz sacrificed & burnt incense in the high places, & on the hills - 2 Kings 16:4 He left God to worship other gods. We say "I have no gods in my house. No statues. I'm safe from doing such a thing." Yet we sacrifice family for work. We sacrifice church for "sleep". We sacrfice quite time with God because "we simply don't have time." Don't be fooled these are only a few examples of worshiping other gods.

Esther 4:14 - "who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?" Esther was asked to go before the king & beg for the lives of Israel. This was dangerous & could mean death. She was waivering on this decision when these words were spoken. When you find yourself on the verge of a lifechanging decision, take these words to heart & follow God, even though it may seem "dangerous". Follow Christ.

As I was thinking about the verse that says God is the same yesterday, today, & forever. I got an excited feeling, then a cold chill. IT is true that God is always gracious, kind, etc., but He is STILL jealous, Judge, & Holy. This means He still HATES sin, false "gods", unrighteoussness, unfaithfulness to Him, etc. Christian we WILL 1 day stand before an unchanged God & give account of our life. Today, live Holy.

Rom. 8:15 - "whereby we cry , Abba, Father. " - Sometimes we can do nothing but cry out to Abba Father. We have a Father that isn't too busy to hear us nor is He gone on a business trip, have a cell phone, where youcan leave a message. No, He doesn't have any of these, He has, instead something MUCH more valuable. He has EARS to HEAR & love for us that causes Him to move on our behalf. That's my Abba, Father!

I came across a quote last week, the auther is unknown, but it says "If you don't want anyone to know, don't do it." so simple yet powerful. Christians have a tendancy to do things in secret and keep others from knowing about what we are doing. The only problem with that way of thinking is that whether we like it or not if we do something wrong it has been seen by God Almighty, the Judge. He even knows your thoughts.

Change occurs in the Christian's life when he meets with God. We have discussed devotions and prayer. There are other ways to meet with God as well, do know what they are? I will give you a couple more today. 3. Church - When I say church I mean Sunday morning, Sunday night & midweek as well. Why do I say that, beacuse we are told to in Heb. 10:25. 4. Quiet time - sit in a quiet place & just listen. Ps. 46:10.

During VBS last week I was telling my boys that Christians experience change (2 Cor. 5:17). We experience change when we meet with God. How do we meet with God? We meet with God in several ways. 1. One thing I've learned over the years of ministry. When we serve God faithfully we will be tired, even exhausted, but He ALWAYS gives the strength needed. I have discovered this truth again this week as I have been teaching in VBS. I'm tired, yet God strengthens me to do what needs to be done. If you think you are too busy to serve God, let me challenge you to find a way to serve Him & let Him worry about the rest.

Psalm 37:40 "And the LORD shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him." - This verse summarizes the rest of Ps. 37. We must only realize that God WILL deliver us from the wicked. We face hard times now, but keep your chin up, "Fret not" because the wicked will be utterly destroyed while the righteous will be delivered by God's power. TRUST HIM.

It is achieved through Jesus Christ the LORD! We do not have to rely on our own wit, strength, or valor. Instead we can wholly rely on Christ's Wit, Strength, and Valor! David even looked for him and could NOT find him anywhere. David exercised patience as he waited for God's timing to take the throne of Israel. Let us do the same to claim God's promises. He has experienced persecution from the wicked as he chases David with the soul purpose of killing him. David had been rejected, betrayed, and chased over the hill sides of Jerusalem, yet David knew what he was annointed to do, be king. Take a lesson from this king, remain faithful.

Psalm 37:34 "when the wicked are cut off , thou shalt see it." - The wicked have taken God out of school, the courtroom, & are now trying to completely wipe Him out of the public view. They would even take God out of families! While we are waiting we should be about God's business, winning the lost, caring for the poor, working in the field. Psalm 37:33 The LORD will not leave him in his hand, - Itmay seem at times that the wicked is doing what they set out to do... kill and destroy the righteous, but we have a promise from God's Word that God will not leave the righteous in the hand of the wicked. As the righteous face persecutions it makes us stronger because we relly on God and His Word. The wicked become prideful & soon they shall fall. Rest in God.

The wicked watches the righteous, looking for ways to "Destroy" the righteous. They seek to kill the righteous. The wicked does NOT like the righteous one bit. Becsuase the righteous takes a stand squarely against the wicked this makes them enemies.

Psalm 37:30 his (Righteous) tongue talketh of judgment. - Not only is it a great idea to seek council from the righteous because their mouth speak wisdom, but also because their tongue speaks judgement. There is no guessing when the righteous speak. The righteous speaks clearly. he will speak the truth, in love, in a judicial way. In other words he will not hem & haw about, he will, with judgement, tell the truth.

Ps. 37:29 The righteous shall inherit the land, & dwell therein for ever. - We are made righteous through Jesus Christ. Because of what he did for us, we have an inheritance that will not fade away, EVER! Jesus is preparing a land for us where the wicked will never be admitted. In this land there will be no sin, suffering, sorrow. All will be made right ans all will be alright. Does this not sound like heaven?

Ps. 37:28 but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off. - While the saint is not forgotten it is just as true that God being just and "fair" will one day destroy the wicked. He will not only destroy the wicked perrson, but their seed! This means they will have no heir to take their place. I am looking forward to the time when God destroys the wiched One, Satan himself. Ps. 37:28 the LORD loveth judgment, & forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: - At times we may say, "Life isn't fair!" whhich is true, but God is. He is Just & loves judgement. Ps. 37:27 Depart from evil, & do good; & dwell for evermore. - We cannot in & of ourselves turn away from evil, we ARE evil. Until a person turns to Christ that person is doomed to spend eternity in hell. Christian, we should be telling the world the message of hope. They don't have to go to hell, they can go to heaven, if only they repent. Just as the psalmist gived us hope we too must spread the word of hope!

Psalm 37:26 He (The righteous) is ever merciful , & lendeth; & his seed is blessed. - The righteous is both merciful & giving. He is blessed by the God who sees ALL. The rigteous person Knows that there need not be great pomp because of what he has done to help the needy. God sees all that is done & is keeps accurate records. Being righteous not only bring sblessing to the righteous person, but to his descendants.

God shows His mercy daily to us as we wake up with new mercies everyday. Everyday we do something that offends God whether it be a thought, attitude, etc. & yet He gives us new mercy. The righteous likewise shows mercy to those who do not deserve it. Have you been done wrong? Show mercy.
