Genesis 1:1- "In the beginning God..." - Many people get confused here. People say that there is no God, or they are their own god. It is here however that people MUST not stay confused. If there is no God there is no accountability, we can do what we want. If there is a God the opposite is true. We must realize & teach others that not only is there a God, but there is only one God & HE was & is the beginning.

Psalm 47:9 - "for the shields of the earth belong unto God: he is greatly exalted." - Powerful families had a shield with their crest on it. Now if the shileds of the earth belong to God, then all the "powerful" are His. The king's heart is in the Lord's hand. God is GREATLY exalt because ALL is His & will be exalted no matter who is in power. We who are on God's side, rejoice for victory is God's! PRAISE HIM TODAY!

Psalm 47:9 - "The princes of the people are gathered together, even the people of the God of Abraham: " - Have you ever been around a person that "comands" respect, when this person speaks it seems that EVERYONE listens? This is exactly how God is, except He does not command respect from a small room, but the world; yes even the heathen. WOW! What a Savior. Rejoice that you are a child of God & rest in His strength.

Psalm 47:8 - " God reigneth over the heathen: God sitteth upon the throne of his holiness." - As you go throughout the day remember that God reigns over all. An account will be given of ALL done. Think on this "God has a throne of holiness, for which he is to be feared by all men. A throne of grace, for which he is to be loved by his redeemed. A throne of glory, for which he is to be praised by his whole creation."

Psalm 47:7 - "For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding." - How are we to sing? With understanding. God is our AWESOME King & deserves nothing less than our best. When we sing without understanding whether we sing the old hymns in "vain repetition" or sing in such a way that no one can understand what is said i.e. "Christian" rock, we do not give God our best.Give God what He deserves.

Psalm 47:6 - "Sing praises to God, sing praises : sing praises unto our King, sing praises." - This verse is for all who say they don't like to sing! Once we realize how great our God; our KING is we can't help but sing. This verse even narrows the type of music down very specifically - PRAISES! If you can't sing today, take time to consider ALL that God has done for you, salvation, eternal life, etc. then....SING!!

Psalm 47:5 - "God is gone up with a shout, the LORD with the sound of a trumpet." - This verse gives the picture of someone charging into battle. The shout is that of one who gives a "battle cry" as they run to the fight. The trumpet is that of one that sounds "ATTACK!" Simply put God has gone ahead to fight our battles for us!! If God be for us who can be against us? NOONE, we are already victorious because of Him!!

Psalm 47:4 - " He shall choose our inheritance for us, the excellency of Jacob whom he loved . Selah" - What a relief from stress! It is not up to us to decide what's next, where we go, how long we go there, or ANYTHING for that matter. Clarification: We have a free will & can choose to obey or not, we are NOT robots. If we choose to simply & yes, blindly obey God we will be amazed how little stress life holds.

Psalm 47:3 - "He shall subdue the people under us, and the nations under our feet. " - Anyone who has tried to live life in his own power will admit, if he's honest, that he has been a complete failure! This is because our flesh is weak, we cannot live a victorious life without God. We must come to the point that we say "Lord, I cannot do it on my own I need You." Once we get here, it is a short way to victory.

Psalm 47:2 - "For the LORD most high is terrible ; he is a great King over all the earth." - What a comfort to know that God has the whole world in is hand/ kingdom. It's good to know that when life gets out of OUR control, God, our great King NEVER LOST control. He is King over all the Earth so it does not matter what comes our way, good or bad, it does not change the fact that God is STILL & ALWAYS shall be KING!

Life Can’t Get Any Better
No matter what comes my way I have a Friend that's closer than a brother. No matter how badly my heart is broken I know the One who can heal it. No matter how deeply I am hurt I know the "Balm in Gilead". No matter the burden, I know the One on whom to cast it because He cares for me. No matter how dark, I know the Light. No matter how defeated I feel, I know the One who has made me more than a conqueror. No matter the thickness of the battle, I know the One who has already won the war. No matter how troublesome my life is, I know the One who can calm my sea. No matter how hard my lot in life, I know the One who tells me to take His yoke for it is easy and light. No matter how wretched I was, I know the One who reached way down to pick me up, cleanse my soul, make me pure, and bestow the gift of eternal life; none of which I deserve. No matter how unfair life is, I am grateful that it is not fair, for had it been I would surely burn for all eternity. No matter how badly I am treated I know the One who was, beaten, bruised, battered, and hung bare for my sins and yet He prayed “Father forgive them.” No matter how little known I am it must be the great I AM that is lifted up and known. No matter what the world tries to offer I know the One, his name is Jesus, who gave all Himself, is giving all His power, wisdom, grace and mercy to the undeserving, and one day will give all the beauty of heaven and an eternal home for me to enjoy. With a relationship like that who can ask for anything more. With a Friend like Jesus, life, no matter what happens, can’t get any better.

Ecclesiastes 1:18
Eccl. 1:18 - " in much wisdom is much grief: and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow." - I don't want much grief or sorrow, do you? Ok, then forget wisdom & knowledge; forget school. I know what you're thinking, "He's off his rocker"!! The verse DOES say that wisdom only brings grief & knowledge increases sorrows. Logically then, "Ignorance IS bliss." Here lies the danger of taking verses out of context. We are to STUDY to show ourselves approved unto God. We must be careful NOT to twist what the Bible teaches. I just took a verse from the Bible & "proved" that we are to be stupid. This is BAD Theology. Be wary of ANYONE who takes a verse out of context. The Bible makes a great comment about the people at Berea, it says they were "...more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily , whether those things were so."(Acts 17:11). This is why DAILY devo's are so important. To know when Scripture is being misquoted, we must first know what the Scripture says.
