Revelation 22:20 - 20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
This promise particularly tends to bring mixed emotions for many. On the one hand those who are saved are very excited because we will soon be leaving this world of sorrow, yet many of us have lost loved ones, friends, co-workers, and acquaintances which we know that if Christ would return today they would be left behind to go through the horrible events of the great tribulation. Both are, to me, are valid emotions to deal with. So, what do we do?
First, we obey Mark 16:15 and start preaching the gospel to EVERYONE. When we understand the fact, not only will the lost stand before Christ to give an account for their lives, we too will stand before Christ to be judged for our works. We do not know when Christ will appear we only know it will be SOON. It is time, dear friend that we Christians arise out of our slumber and DIRECT disobedience to God’s command to share the gospel. Jesus will come again and it will be sooner than we think. Please join me in setting a goal to verbally witness to 2 people a week and pass out 10 gospel tracts a week. Will you join me in this goal?
Second, we look up. Jesus will indeed come again in the clouds. We are to Watch. We must keep an active eye toward the sky and live as if He were coming back today. We must be alert to our surroundings and what is taking place in the world, the signs are very clear that Christ’s return is very soon.
Christ said, Surely I come quickly. Now that’s A Promise to Ponder, and to take action on!!
