A Promise to Ponder Vol. 1, Issue 13

1 Corinthians 12:13 - For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

I will not give any definitions for this verse the words are easily understood. The concept in which I would like to bring out in this passage is that God is NOT racist, He has NO favorites, and He wants ALL to come to Him. It is a comfort to know that when a person comes to God He does not say “Oh, sorry you’re the wrong type of person.” The children’s song says it best “Jesus loves the little children all the children of the world, Red and Yellow, Black and White they are precious in His sight Jesus loves the little children of the world.” One type of person does not receive a partial portion of the Holy Spirit while the other gets all the Spirit. No, this is not true at all. The Bible, in this verse plainly teaches that it does not matter to God whether a person is Jew or Gentile, whether bond or free He makes us all the same. The Bible says in Colossians 3:11 “Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.” Now that’s a Promise to Ponder!
