On This Date...

In 1967: the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in New York City announced his opposition to the Vietnam War. Exactly one year later he was assassinated in Memphis.

In 1973: The World Trade Center ribbon-cutting ceremony was held to mark the opening of the Twin Towers.


In 1975: Microsoft was founded by Bill Gates and Paul Allen in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
